When Charity Feels Taken Advantage Of

I believe that the current unemployment benefit extension is a bit absurd. While I bet this feeling isn’t going to be a popular one hear me out for a second.

Unemployment is a benefit for those who cannot find work but when is too much benefit considered too much benefiting? We have already given an extension to benefits before and while I wasn’t too happy with that decision some may argue it was necessary. In that case the benefits helped those who couldn’t find a job to make ends meet a bit longer. But if the same people see that the government was so lenient to give more benefits what incentives do they have to start working. The chance of benefits being extended are obviously greater with a larger democrat party and a democrat president.

People have never been able to get benefits for this long and I’m sure if I got unemployed next year there’s no guarantee I would be able to get benefits as long as these current recipients as I’m sure the funds would be almost depleted.

Anyways, I am for unemployment benefits but at the same time I fully recognize that getting money for nothing can cause certain individuals to become complacent with their situation. For anyone who has been getting benefits for more than half a year needs to start working even if it will be at a lower paying wage and start contributing to the unemployment fund again.
