Obama to gather Cabinet, seeking $100 million in cuts

When President Obama mentioned that he wanted to try and reduce the government’s budget by $100 million dollars last week I just had to take a second to reflect on it. While $100 million dollars is a large ghastly sum to you or I it fails in size in comparison to the overall federal budget as well as even the billions that have already been spent on the stimulus package and the bailout packages.

Yes this shows that Obama is a forward thinking President that he claimed himself to be, but any accountant will tell you that $100 million doesn’t balance out the billions that have already been spent. From what it appears to be, this may be asking his department to scrutinize the little details such as which office toilet paper to buy or recycling paper clips. This is no different from a family who penny pinches on their dinners, eating 99 cent TV dinners, but ask them to downgrade their Cadillac Escalade and they’ll look at you dumbfounded.

Well I know people respond much better with visual so I found a video that describes exactly what I’m talking about.

It seems kind of frivolous for Obama to ask his offices and administration to find ways to save on toilet paper but continue to shore up the bank accounts of the nations banking industry with bailouts, promises, and guarantees.

If he succeeds they’ll manage to save $100 million dollars, hey I guess it’s a start. Way to go sir!
